Orthodontic Procedures

Orthodontic patients may be referred to White and Blansett Periodontics and Dental Implants to undergo a periodontal examination before beginning orthodontics.  It is very important that each orthodontic patient has healthy gums to prevent bone loss during orthodontics.  Periodontal therapy may be recommended before orthodontics begins and a maintenance schedule may be recommended to monitor tissue health during orthodontics.  Dr. White or Dr. Blansett will also help develop a treatment plan that will anticipate the need for gum grafting, esthetic crown lengthening or dental implants.

Dr. White and Dr. Blansett work closely with area Dentists and Orthodontists to provide a number of services for Orthodontic patients.  Procedures performed to help orthodontic treatment progress include exposure of impacted teeth, gum recontouring, frenulectomy, and surgery for Accelerated Osteogenic Orthodontics (AOO). Cosmetic procedures such as root coverage grafting and esthetic crown lengthening can be performed during or after orthodontic treatment.
